Few years ago, Kimyagaran Emrooz pioneered the production of pharmaceutical and industrial grade mono propylene glycol in the Middle East region. Subsequently, its success story reached a new peak when it managed to manufacture Active Pharmaceutical Ingredient (API) metronidazole and metronidazole benzoate.

Currently, API acetaminophen and aspirin are included in the company’s production slate, adding Iran’s name to the list of the four only countries in the world that produce metronidazole.

In tandem with its macro development goals, Kimyagaran Emrooz unveiled the largest pharmaceutical raw material township in the Middle East in 2020 that covers an area of 16 hectares, with the inauguration of the company’s acetaminophen raw material production plant. Currently, various production units, including API mefenamic acid, API metformin, and the base ingredient of para-aminophenol (PAP), are under construction in the township.

Following a change in its investment policies, Kimiagaran Chemical Industries Company converted from a private joint-stock company to a public joint-stock company in 2021 after it IPOed and was listed on Iran Fara Bourse which is part of the Iranian securities market.

Kimiagaran’s products are used in a host of different industries including the pharmaceutical sector. Backward integration is a major objective of the company in which it seeks to expand its products diversity and supply chain management practice by producing pharmaceutical raw materials from petrochemical-based products.
